Originally set up in Herne Bay, Kent in 2005 by Stephanie Lam, a Canterbury Harrier and keen runner herself, Man on the Run® is organised by a committee of volunteers in aid of Cancer Research UK.

This committee organise the Herne Bay Man on the Run® event and 2015 saw the Man on the Run® committee begin to support other CRUK committees and volunteers to host Man on the Run® events too.
